To shamelessly quote song lyrics from an old classic would describe, for me, this moment in perfect harmony. "It's a long, long road, from which there is no return. While we're on the way to there, why not share? And the load doesn't weigh me down at all. He ain't heavy, he's my brother!"

Welcome to the website that has finally found the road that it was always meant to set foot upon: welcome to the real WantSoMuch.com™!

The past year has been a long haul of learning curves and let-downs to say the least! However, taking the positives away from it all, we are going to use that positive energy to drive this site forward and to continually make things better. Cool, slick, functional and fast describe only part of the story.

The majority of the story (and seldom other dating sites take pride to mention) is, of course, the quality our members. We have put technology in place to filter out scammers and time-wasters without intruding on the privacy of our genuine members. Our aim is to keep promoting quality and to offer quality as a free service to you.

We are writing this log to help you keep up to date with developments. Of course, if you want to add the development and help shape our future then please feel free to contact us.

Okay, I know this is like flicking on the telly during a party in your living room (guaranteed to kill all known parties dead) but I do want to develop the video and web-cam side to this site. Anyway, feel free to channel hop in the meantime!

Still working on the blogs though people. Need to get the debate going!

The megaphone is back! Use the megaphone to broadcast your message to all WantSoMuch.com members.

How does it work? Maybe you are flying to a city for the weekend and want to meet with others? Or maybe you have spare tickets to a football game and want to invite others?

Simple. Type into the megaphone what it is you want or what you have to offer and we will broadcast your messages on a loop. Then when other members login, they will see your message and contact you as appropriate.

Just a note to say the winks have started. I will get around to adding a "reply to wink" function later since I have had a few requests to get blogs up and running. So ... watch this space!

We have fixed a few things with the profile. In addition to updating your appearance, you can change your location and you can choose when to receive alerts.

For example, if someone wants to chat and if you miss their chat request then you will get an email saying that person wanted to chat with you. You can control these alerts in the "My Account" section.

Next up: winks and chat. Thanks to SEXYONEFORU for suggesting improvements to the current 1-1 chat. We will continually develop the site and incorporate web-cam chat for the cam-lovers out there.

So, whilst working on admin and support functions we decided to link in some advertising. As you know, this is a free site; so by having a few adverts does actually help to move the site forward: specifically marketing, promotion and getting more members.

Also, we have done a lot of work "behind the scenes" so hopefully searches will be faster. Right now, we are working on alerts so you can control better as and how you will be alerted when other members write or request 1-1 chat with you.

This week we have been bug fixing. For example, when selecting multiple options (countries and relationships) not all the options were being displayed. This should be fixed now. Also, we have added two search short-cuts so you can quickly see who is online and who are our latest members.

Next up: we need to have more admin / support type functions. For example, we need to provide a quicker turn-around on photo approval.

Finally got around to programming the "display member profile" which means you can now see yourself as others would view you and from the search results, you can now display the complete profile. From the search results, member profiles will open in a new window so you can continue to scroll through the result set without having to navigate back.

Also, if you are finding it tricky to email other members via the search screen then just click the Email option to pin / unpin the window. I will continue to refine the navigation over time.

Next up: search (again). This time I want to add "short-cuts" so you can see members online, members in your area, etc.

Right, so that's contact us and password reminders done.

You might wonder why we send you randomly generated passwords. All user details are encrypted so even the administrators cannot read your password. So, we just make up a name at random and send it to you via the email address you used to register. That said, you can always change your password to something more meaningful later in the My Account section.

Next up: search. Please note that things like "send winks" and "view profile details" are currently in progress. Apologies for the inconvenience caused but hope to have those links filled as soon as possible.

There were so many problems with the old website that we had to move our members over to this new site sooner rather than later. It was slow, confusing, difficult to use and would only work on Internet Explorer (most of the time).

Now that we have migrated all members, we need to make the existing functionality (search, message, chat) work really well before adding new features.

Right now we will be working on the contact us and the forgot password page. That way, if members or site visitors have questions then they can always contact us.
